Step 1: Are you already a library member?

You can learn about the terms of use of our library on our website and fill in this form beforehand, to enter the most important data for your registration and to confirm your email address in advance. Then come to the library within the following 28 days to complete the registration process. The library team will also be happy to inform you during your visit. If you’re already a library member, you can continue to Step 2.

Step 2: Have you already registered for a free account on Mein Goethe.de?

If you haven’t already registered on Mein Goethe.de, you can easily set up an online account now. You will use your login credentials for Mein Goethe.de to login to your library account. With Mein Goethe.de you’ll also be able personalize other online services of the Goethe-Institut from our language, culture and library departments. If you already registered for Mein Goethe.de in the past, you don’t need to register again. Continue directly to Step 3.

Step 3: Activate your account!

In order to activate your account, the library team needs the email address with which you registered on Mein Goethe.de. Please fill out the form below and send it to the library. The library team will inform you once the online access to your library account has been activated. Activation generally takes no more than two business days.

In our library’s Online Catalog (OPAC), you can browse our holdings around the clock and gain an overview of the books, CDs, DVDs, magazines and electronic resources that make up our collection.

If you are a library member, you can sign in to your library account. Your library account offers the following advantages:

View documents you currently have out on loan, including due date
Renew the loan period for your document
View open and paid fees
Suggest acquisitions for the library
Comment on documents
View documents you’ve previously borrowed

What do I need to log in to my library account?

In order to access the personalized functions of your library account, you need to have a valid library membership and have registered for a free Mein Goethe.de account.
