In April we are screening  Wim Wenders Film “Paris, Texas” (1984)– a German and French co-production, which takes place in the U.S. Starring Harry Dean Stanton, it tells the story of Travis, who is found confused and disoriented in the desert of Texas and starts searching for the woman he once loved.

Acclaimed director and photographer Wim Wenders (1945) is cofounder of the New German Cinema and since 2003 professor at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg.

The film will be shown in German with English subtitles. Afterwards there will be a moderated discussion.

This year Canada is commemorating its 150th anniversary. To celebrate, the Goethe-Institut will run a special program, “Germany @ Canada 2017 – Partners From Immigration to Innovation,” showcasing the close relationship between Germany and Canada.
