German Films celebrates its 70th anniversary in 2024! The Export Union of the German Film Industry was founded in Wiesbaden in 1954, renamed German Films Service + Marketing GmbH in 2004 and has been successfully promoting German feature films and filmmakers all over the world for 70 years.

To highlight 70 years of German cinema abroad, a film program entitled "70 Years of German Cinema - A Success Story" has been put together as a retrospective, curated by Alfred Holighaus, Head of Development and Producer at REAL FILM in Berlin and NORDFILM in Kiel, who has selected a mixture of 14 feature and documentary films. The aim of this film program is to give German cinema abroad the special attention it rightly deserves.

Presented by the Goethe-Institut Montreal in collaboration with the students of the Collége Maisonneuve and German Films, a strong partner of the Goethe-Institut worldwide.
