For over twenty years the Enache family have lived as one with nature amongst the wetlands of the Bucharest delta, secluded from the hustle and bustle of the nearby city. Their serene coexistence however, is shattered when the city comes knocking, declaring the land is to be renovated into a public park. Disheartened and afraid, the family of eleven are moved into a small room in the city with the help of a social worker, who pushes them to adapt to their new way of life.

In his directorial debut, Romanian investigative reporter Radu Ciorniciuc follows the family’s fraught transition as the father sinks into a depression, the oldest sons are arrested for illegal fishing, and echoing sentiments of his entire family, Vali wants nothing more than to return to the only home he has ever known. Ciorniciuc succeeds in spotlighting the honest, quiet story of a family in Bucharest, the likes of which are often overshadowed by media frenzies of political parties and royal visits.
