The Goethe-Institut in London has just launched a new regional project for its region of Northwest Europe on sustainability and climate change – we are really quite excited about the brand-new format of the pop-up escape room!

It will now tour in the Scandinavian countries and the Netherlands first before coming to Scotland, Ireland, and finally back to the PASCH schools in England in December 2020.

The students, who do not have more than 60 minutes to stop humankind to be destroyed by a mad teacher, first have to work as a whole group to be able to open up a one of a kind suitcase which contains their individual team backpacks.

They can then retreat into their team tents and, with the help of their teacher as well, have to try to solve all the puzzles connected to various topics about sustainability, like wild plants, everyone’s own carbon footprint, acid rain, and many more.

Depending on the outcome of their mission they will either be able to save the world from the madwoman or to have to dedicate their lives to the protection of the environment even more – which is one of the main goals of the game, of course, next to creating awareness for the imminence of taking care of saving the environment for future generations.

In order to connect this game with their lesson plans on the environment, we are also very happy about being able to present teacher of German with teaching materials on this topic which can be found here:

Teaching Materials Renewable Energies

These materials are of course to be used free of charge and, since they work as add-ons to the game, can also be used without having the opportunity to actually play the game.

We at the Goethe-Institut in London will roll out this game in some of the PASCH schools in the UK so stay tuned which schools will be among the lucky ones to be selected to obtain it!
