Teachers & Heads from Primary and Secondary Schools
Are you a non-specialist German teacher already delivering German lessons in some shape or form?
Would you like to find out why German is the smart choice for your school? Would you like support with getting the ball rolling? Are you interested in setting up a German club at your primary or secondary school?
The Goethe-Institut is offering an exclusive, fully funded* trip to Berlin for primary and secondary school teachers and headteachers that is geared towards introducing German in schools or strengthening its status.
Primary and secondary school teachers can expect to:
- get to know engaging and interactive approaches to teaching German
- deepen their linguistic and pedagogical skills (A1 language level) to support the introduction of German at their schools
- get to know the Goethe-Institut’s German club materials and find out how they can be implemented
Headteachers can expect to:
- gain insights into the German educational system and learn about educational and political issues related to schools
- gather new ideas through observation and interaction with stakeholders from the German educational system
- explore the history and culture of Germany, gaining insight into current conditions and debates
- explore the topic of transition between primary and secondary education regarding language learning
State school teachers and headteachers from the UK can submit their applications supported by a motivational letter ( max 400 words) until
September 9th 2024. Successful candidates will be informed soon thereafter.
*This includes flights, accommodation in a single room, breakfast and one meal at lunchtime per day.
