Indonesia and Germany are connected through a long friendship, be it on a cultural, economic or political level. To celebrate this long-lasting relationship, an exciting format – the German Season – will be presented this year. In a series of events touching many different fields, everybody is invited to join and become part of it.

The German Season is designed to foster a fruitful exchange between Indonesia and Germany and includes the participation of renowned personalities, institutions and cultural players from both countries – that way, the relationship between Indonesia and Germany will be strengthened, and a solid foundation for a creative future can be laid.

The varied program includes many events: choirs from Germany and Indonesia combine their voices and perform as one group, Indonesian artists have the opportunity to meet their German counterparts and create unique works together, while children and young adults learn about scientific issues in an entertaining way. Seminars and conferences on current political and economic issues are also part of the program.

These are but a few details of the colorful program of the German Season which aims to present new and innovative formats – and many more are coming your way. The German Season kicks off on September 5 and lasts for three months in several cities throughout Indonesia. Besides forging new ties between the two countries, one of the most important goals of the German Season is to engage with the public and offer them a creative platform to learn from each other, grow together – and of course, have fun.

The German Season is an initiative of the Federal Foreign Office in Germany and is organized by the Goethe-Institut, the German Embassy Jakarta and EKONID.
