Fritz Lang's crime classic with Peter Lorre as a psychopathic child murderer who terrifies a city with his crimes. The underworld feels disturbed by the constant police checks and itself blows the hunt for the killer. In the attic of an office building, the rabble-rousers track him down and bring him before a tribunal. At the last second, the police can prevent the lynching.

The introverted Ania lives alone in a small apartment and has a less than fulfilling job at a technology company. As a balance to this conceivably inconspicuous everyday life, the young woman pushes ahead with an art project in her free time and trains at a shooting range. One day, she has an encounter that changes Ania's life forever: The sight of a wolf, which she encounters on her way home at a small patch of woods, triggers an enormous fascination in her. Ania pursues the wild animal and is eventually even able to catch it and bring it back to her apartment. Soon it seems that the wolf brings out an animalistic side in the young woman. Thus, her desire for sex grows stronger, while her adherence to the usual social norms and patterns of behavior continues to dwindle. Ania's fellow men encounter these changes very differently. Some are fascinated by her new wildness, others repelled.
