Technician / Gardener

Position: Technician / Gardener
Location: Goethe-Institut Colombo
Start Date: 1 May 2026
Employment Basis: Full time

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Duties include:

  1.  Technician (approx.70% of the workload) including the tasks:
  • Operating and maintaining technical equipment
  • Operating and maintaining digital equipment
  • Preparing technical setups for events and its implementation during events (cultural and educational programs, classrooms, workshops and conferences)
  • Other assistance with event-related tasks
  2.  Maintaining a garden (approx. 30% of the workload)

Requirements: 
  • Knowledge of spoken and written English & Sinhala is essential
  • Proficiency in IT would be an added advantage
  • Willingness to work on weekends and evenings
Applicants should:
  • Be reliable, trustworthy and able to work self-dependent
  • Have relevant experience in similar positions
  • Be able to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
