Heike (59) is a site manager in the building cleaning industry and has been maintaining the delicate balance between clients, company management, and cleaning staff for years—mostly through improvisation, compromises, and quiet pressure on herself. When she tries—against company policy—to poach an unofficially employed worker from a major subcontractor for her own team, the situation escalates: The subcontractor threatens to stop providing support in the future unless he is given more hours and a higher revenue share. To meet his demands, Heike must make concessions that are directly borne by her own employees.

Caught between loyalty, economic pressure, and the harsh realities of the low-wage sector, she finds herself in a conflict with no clear-cut solution. With a keen eye for the invisible mechanisms of precarious work, the film tells the story of a woman trying to remain fair in a system that does not provide for fairness—and of how much understanding for resentment is needed when no one can truly win.
