Using government resources and state authority—that’s how young prosecutor Seyo Kim intends to combat right-wing violence in eastern Germany. When she herself becomes a target and survives a racist attack, she decides—against her agency’s explicit orders and at the risk of her own life—to investigate the matter on her own.

Seyo succeeds in bringing one of the perpetrators to trial. She sets out with determination to expose him as part of a far-right network. She digs deep into her agency’s archives, reopens long-closed “isolated cases,” and sets up seemingly harmless witnesses who can be linked not only to the attack on her but to other incidents as well.

The German public prosecutor’s office is shrouded in the myth of being the “most objective authority in the world.” But during her trial, Seyo experiences firsthand what it means to fight for justice in a state that applies double standards and not only downplays right-wing violence but sometimes even covers it up.
