KinoFest Paratexts
For KinoFest 2026, Goethe-Institut Philippinen is partnering with MARG1N, an independent print-only film magazine from Cambodia supported by Anti-Archive, and its sister critical writing platform Paratexts. Through this collaboration, writers will respond to selected films from this year’s KinoFest programme, exploring the ideas, questions, and contexts that extend beyond the films themselves. The resulting reviews and essays offer different perspectives on stories of faith, memory, justice, care, belonging, and the realities that shape our lives. As Paratexts puts it, criticism can inhabit the space between a work and its audience. This collaboration invites readers to enter that space and look at the films from new angles, connecting German cinema with broader conversations across Southeast Asia.
