Over the course of a year, this documentary follows the daily life of a residential group for children in an idyllic house by the lake. Three caregivers work in shifts to look after five boys aged seven to fourteen who have been removed from their biological families. In addition to everyday tasks such as cooking, doing laundry, and driving the children around, the focus is on emotional support, conversations, and shared rituals. The caregivers’ goal is to provide the children with a sense of security and to support them as they return to their families. The film highlights the challenges and pressures faced by these professionals amid the complexities of the youth welfare system and sheds light on their often-unseen work.
