There is a lot going on at the Hartmanns' place: mother Angelika's single-handed decision to take in African asylum seeker Diallo after her visit to a refugee shelter has upset her husband Richard. Naturally, Diallo's arrival causes some upheaval and friction in the household. Then, daughter Sophie unexpectedly shows up: the aimless, eternal student is trying to shake off a manic admirer. To make matters worse, son Philip also returns home - a nervous wreck - with his son Basti. Not surprisingly, the concentration of so many diverse characters under one roof leads to conflict and things soon take a turn for the worse.
