Franziska and Rüdiger Reuber’s marriage is on the rocks. On Robby’s tenth birthday, his father tells him a story about a robber. As the boy feels responsible for his little sister’s kidnapping, he runs away to the “Forest of Lost Souls” where he wants to be trained by the dreaded robber. Beforehand, he meets the magician Fidibus, who tries to steal his childhood. The wild robber saves him. By the time Robby returns to reality and his normal life, it is clear that Robby’s father Rüdiger and the imaginary robber are one and the same person. Dreams and reality permeate each other.
