Whether pretzel rolls, whole-grain bread or sweet cakes - Germany is world-renowned for its baking. The Goethe-Institut Thailand has invited master baker, Ingo Wenseritt to give a workshop in Bangkok. Amongst many other great tips and secrets, participants can learn which type of dough is the easiest to knead, how to prevent a cheese cake sinking in the middle and the best place to buy baking ingredients in Thailand! Our master baker will also demonstrate how well German baking and Asian spices go together. The workshop is part of the culinary cultural event “Wanderlust Küche – A Culinary Dialogue“.

Ingo Wenseritt concocts amazingly tasty recipes by uniting elements which would first appear to be completely incompatible. Under the motto “German baking meets Asian spices“ the German master baker stirs up a whole series of classic recipes and enriches them with the typical flavours of his adopted homeland, Thailand. By doing so, he creates true delicacies for the cake platter and real treats for the taste buds, à la Pad Ka Pao Munich!

You can see Ingo Wenseritt in action in a workshop presented by the Goethe-Institut Thailand in cooperation with Schmidt Co. Ltd. The latter is an old-established business which was founded in 1960 by Berlin emigrants. It now operates from five different locations in Thailand, supplying bakeries, cake and pastry shops nationwide with ingredients for cakes, bread and cookies. On November 29th 2018, professional baker Ingo Wenseritt will share his own personal baking tips and tricks with 40 hobby bakers here in Bangkok. He will also answer any questions the participants may have concerning whole-grain bread, cake and cookies. Together with our master baker, the workshop participants will produce a variety of goodies which combine German recipes with Thai ingredients. In keeping with the spirit of the Goethe-Institut’s “Wanderlust Küche”-project, ,the workshop team can experience a tasty, cross-cultural dialogue in the centre of Bangkok. Tasting is explicitly permitted and encouraged! Ingo Wenseritt will surely reveal a few secrets and recipes from his years as a successful professional.
