SAC Gallery, ฺBangkok
- Price Free Admission
In April 2020, the Berlin-based art collective un.thai.tled opened the exhibition Beyond the Kitchen: Stories from the Thai Park in the Villa Oppenheim with the support of the Goethe-Insitut Thailand.
The Thai Park is an intercultural meeting place in the heart of Berlin Wilmersdorf. Since the 1990s, Thai women living in German have created a space for themselves filling it with their culture and identity. Now these stories travel from Berlin to Bangkok. Under the new title “There Is No Thai Park”, SAC Gallery presents a selection of the archive and artistic works.
Embedded in the Bangkok context, the exhibition scope expands with local issues such as migration, the idea of a home or the use of public space. New works from Thai artists about politics, history and art embody the diversity behind the question about the Thai identity, whether in the diaspora or in their own country.
