Zoo Station: The Story of Christiane F.

13-year-old Christiane F. lives together with her mother and sister in a desolate high-rise housing estate in Berlin-Gropiusstadt. In order to escape family problems at least temporarily, she smokes hash and throws trips. But then she switches to hard drugs and takes heroin. She becomes addicted. In the morning she goes to school and in the afternoon she goes to the children's street at Bahnhof Zoo to get the money for her addiction. Christiane gets further and further caught up in the maelstrom of drugs and prostitution. And instead of the supposed freedom, the substance only brings decay and death, which does not spare even some of her closest friends.
