Zustand und Gelände: Film screening and Q&A
Film screening

Many older buildings in Germany have an ambivalent past. Built as schools, castles or homes, their purpose and thus their meaning changed drastically when the National Socialist regime seized power. They were converted into prisons, interrogation rooms, and concentration camps, stripped of their architectural roots. The ever changing contextualization of buildings over years and decades is the subject of Ute Adamczewski's montage film, in which literary fragments are superimposed as narration over images of the locations.
Following the screening, director Ute Adamczewskis will be available for a Q&A at DocClub.
