Om and Friends x Pro Musica

In this concert at the Goethe-Institut, we will hear not the usual version of Beethoven's 4th concerto for piano and orchestra, but the special version arranged for piano and string quintet that will create an intimacy of chamber music while the virtuosity of piano remains unchanged.

Dvorak’s “American” String Quintet, as the name suggested, was composed when Dvorak was in the United States. Written in the summer of 1893 Dvorak gracefully combined his nationalistic idiom from Eastern European culture with American flavor. The quintet added extra viola to the usual setting of the string quartet, thus making it a viola quintet.

Performers of this concert are Graeme Norris (violin), Omporn Kowintha (viola), Anna Takeda (violin), Jonathan Weigle (cello), Tasana Nagavajara (violin), and Ramasoon Sitalayan (piano).
