The Carl Bechstein Piano Competition, in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut Thailand, is delighted to present an exceptional piano evening featuring the acclaimed German pianist Wolfgang Glemser. Under the title “Pictures”, the programme unites poetic soundscapes, impressionist reflections, and vivid musical imagery—culminating in one of the most iconic masterpieces of the piano repertoire: Modest Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.
In this thoughtfully curated journey through musical “pictures,” Glemser guides the audience through intimate dreamscapes, shimmering water scenes, moonlit terraces, and the dramatic tableaux of 19th century Russia. His refined touch, nuanced phrasing, and exceptional clarity make him an ideal interpreter of these richly coloured musical landscapes.
