Why Study in Germany?

With approximately 240,000 foreign students, or one in ten of all university students, Germany is the third most popular destination after the United States and Great Britain among international students in the world. Why?

  • More than 400 German world-class universities with over 15,000 degree programs offer excellent opportunities for learning, research and teaching.
  • Unlike many other countries, no tuition fees are charged at universities in Germany. In addition, living expenses in Germany are very affordable and there are many and varied opportunities to receive funding and scholarships.
  • Germany’s economic power and associated career prospects attract people from all over the world. A German university degree is highly respected by employers around the world.
  • Germany is a very safe country with a high standard of living, a rich cultural history and a very diverse population. Located in the heart of Europe it offers endless possibilities of travel to other European countries.
