Inspired by current events and aligned with the broader cultural mission of the Goethe-Institut Boston, this Philosophy Club offers a space for collective reflection on urgent questions of our time. Drawing on diverse philosophical traditions, the club highlights how different historical contexts have grappled with questions of ethics, responsibility, freedom, identity, and the meaning of community. Participants are invited not only to learn about philosophical ideas, but to actively examine how long-standing concepts resonate today, and how they might be reimagined in light of present realities. Through moderated discussion and shared inquiry, the club fosters a critical yet inclusive space in which past and present, theory and lived experience, and local concerns and global perspectives meaningfully intersect.
