Kinofest 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City invites audiences to explore the pulse of Germany today—its hopes, its struggles, and its stories. Through a diverse selection of films, the festival opens a cinematic dialogue on themes that resonate across cultures: climate change, migration, identity, creativity, and resilience. From drama and documentary to animation and family films, the programme offers something for every age and every perspective.

This year’s edition also marks a special occasion: the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Germany and Vietnam. To celebrate this milestone, Kinofest presents a selection of short films by German-Vietnamese filmmakers, offering intimate reflections on belonging, memory, and cultural connection.

The film festival will officially open on October 21.
