"The Tin Drum" is one of the famous works of German post-war literature - for which novelist Günter Grass was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature – Presentation by literature critic Mr. Phạm Xuân Nguyên and translator Mr. Nguyễn Trí Dũng.

“The Tin Drum” is a modern fable that revolves around the life of Oscar, who was only 94 cm tall, in the shape of a six-year-old child, but had a wise mind of an adult. In Oskar's eyes, the whole world was revealed with people buried beneath the ruins of history. The novel was translated into Vietnamese by Duong Tuong.

The Tin Drum was filmed and won in 1979 the Golden Palm and in 1980 the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.

Günter Grass Photo: Günter Grass Günter Grass (1927-2015) is one of the greatest German writers. In 1999, Grass was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature "because he painted the forgotten face of history in bright black fables".
