KIKUK 2.0
Artificial Intelligence Creative and Critical

We are launching the global youth competition “KIKUK – Artificial Intelligence Creative and Critical” for the second time! This year’s motto is “My Future with AI”.  The KIKUK competition once again invites students from around the world to engage creatively and critically with the use of artificial intelligence – and to actively shape their own future.

Competition

Our motto for the 2025/2026 competition is: “My Future with AI”

Choose one of these questions:
  • How will AI change your everyday life?
  • How will we learn, work, communicate, and relax in the future?

Form a team and use an AI application of your choice to create your own AI artwork that reflects your vision of the future. Everything is allowed: videos, music, images, video installations, texts…

Send your AI-generated artwork to your participating Goethe-Institut from September 15 to November 17, 2025!

Win the national KIKUK competition in your country and work in a global team with students from Taipei to San Francisco! Find more information on the websites of Goethe-Instituts in the participating countries.

About KIKUK

“KIKUK – Artificial Intelligence Creative and Critical” is an innovative project that gives students the opportunity to explore the creative use of artificial intelligence. The aim of the project is to promote 21st-century skills through participatory, creative, and critical engagement with AI. Participating teams submit an artwork to their local Goethe-Institut and qualify through national preliminaries for the global KIKUK competition. In the second round, international teams create artworks on the theme “My Future with AI” using AI applications.

While working on their art projects, students and their teachers can take part in exciting workshops and tutorials. These offer practical insights into working with AI and encourage critical reflection on its use. An international jury will award the best artworks. Winning teams will receive prizes and have the opportunity to exhibit their creations in the GoetheVRsum.

New: KIKUK Teacher Award

Would you like to use artificial intelligence to create advertising for your German programme? Then take part in the KIKUK Teacher Award! Use an AI tool to create original advertising material – for example, a poster, a video, a song – there are no limits to your imagination.

Submit your entry to participating Goethe-Instituts between 15 September and 15 November, 2025. The most original idea will receive an award!

Looking Back

In the previous competition “KIKUK – Artificial Intelligence Creative and Critical”, numerous young talents contributed their ideas and visions. From over 250 submissions, the jury selected the TOP 30 teams.

The winning entries show how creative and curious young people are when it comes to AI. Whether through images, videos, or music – the diversity of ideas and perspectives is remarkable.
