A Space to watch and discuss films with women filmmakers of Bangladesh

Goethe-Institut Bangladesh in collaboration with International Film Initiative of Bangladesh (IFIB) invites you to “Through Her Eyes”, a film screening and discussion space, on every month at the auditorium of Goethe-Institut Bangladesh. This time “Through Her Eyes” presents two short films and one experimental film directed by Suborna Senjutee Tushee .
                                                        
Cultural activist Suborna SenjuteeTushee has started her profession as a journalist at Dhaka, Bangladesh. She was involved in-group theatre from her childhood and completed her post-graduation in Economics; she worked in television as an anchor and program-writer; has experienced in several Cinema, Television drama as a scriptwriter and worked in social welfare section. After finishing her P. G. Diploma in the film direction and script writing from Film & Television Institute of India, Pune (F.T.I.I), is practicing now film making in Bangladesh. Recently, she got Seven International Award for her Debut Short Film `Meenalaap/Fish Monologue'!

Synopsis:
This film is about transformation and hope of life while living in a lonely city . Meenalaap (Soliloquy of the fishes) revolves around a Bengali couple migrated from a remote village of West Bengal to Pune city, working in a garments factory and struggling to meet the ends while expecting a child.
The film delves in to the psychological changes of them in the realm of urban alienation in absence of own family and culture while becoming a mother and father from husband and wife for the first time.
