In cooperation with EUNIC Bangladesh, Goethe-Institut Bangladesch, Alliance Française de Dhaka, British Council Bangladesh, Dhaka City South Cooperation, Embassy of Spain , EU-Delegation Bangladesh, Institute of Architects Bangladesh, Bulbul Academy of Fine Arts

Open Heritage Week in Bangladesh aims to open up everyday heritage life places of the city – that often go unregarded and are under continuous threat of disappearance. The Heritage Week seeks to create awareness for heritage among the next generations, to commemorate past days and to re-imagine the country/city that once was.

In 2019, EUNIC Bangladesh will bring government and non-government organisations together, in view of creating a vision for a preserved and accessible cultural heritage and of initiating a regular Open Heritage Week. The Week aims to:
  • make heritage buildings open to the public. Especially the local community thus can connect to the memories inscribed into the neighbourhood, and potentially appreciate different perspectives that could be taken on heritage.
  • offer perspectives on heritage that reach beyond the individual building/site.
Come and visit the Exhibitions, Performances, Workshops and Talk programmes in different places with a focus in Old Dhaka!
