In 1926 (!!!), Mary Wigman first danced her revolutionary Hexentanz: a woman dancer turned choreographer for the first time. An embodiment of primal urges. Danya Hammoud (LB) reinterprets this expressionist pearl from the perspective of her own experience and context. She is from Lebanon, first studied theatre in Beirut and then dance in Paris. 'Through the dialogue with this Witch Dance, I could question the figure of the witch, and investigate the extreme and marginal condition of the body where contradictory powers are at work: fertility and destruction.' A powerful dance, touching in its simplicity and beauty.

De Tunesische choreograaf Amira Chebli beleefde de Arabische Lente in haar thuisland vanop de eerste rij. Vervolgens verbleef ze 3 maanden in Berlijn voor het Goethe-Institut. Deze twee episodes inspireerden Chebli om deze solo performance te creëren over hoe de media bol staan van Europese blikken op Noord-Afrika, vrijheid, religie en politiek. En over wat dat betekent voor vrouw-zijn. Videobeelden, stemmen, en portretten van vrouwen mengen zich op het podium met de fysieke aanwezigheid van de choreograaf-danseres. Zo vertelt Chebli over het anonieme vrouwelijke lichaam dat in de war is en beladen met cultuur, herinneringen, een droom.
