Film summary: The tragi-comedy of Carlos' life begins, continues and ends as that of Portugal. In the company of his close friend, João da Ega, a supposedly brilliant writer, Carlos, who leads an idle life as an aristocratic doctor, spends his time enjoying his friends and having adventures.
