This show is miraculously simple and effective in a way that only puppetry and object theatre can achieve. War is looming, and it’s time to become heroes. But here, soldiers are made of plastic, the battlefield is just a table, and the homeland is a distant image on a screen. Childlike imagination brings cruel, adult themes to life with a dash of wry humour. Gradually, the boundary between play and reality disappears, as does the gap between the toy armies, engaged in a battle whose meaning remains unclear—just like a real-life conflict, when years have passed and each side accuses the other of having started it.
WARNING: Sensitive subjects. This show contains sounds and war sirens that may disturb some viewers.
Text and/or dramaturgy : Ariel Doron
