Luna Simao was born on February 11, 1996, in Lübeck. The singer, who has Angolan roots, competed for Schleswig-Holstein in the Bundesvision Song Contest as a teenager—at the time, she was the youngest participant ever.
She has been making music since her teenage years, took piano and guitar lessons, and developed her own musical style at an early age. Today, she has established herself as an independent artist: with her hit "Deutscher Akzent" ("german accent"), she sums up the feeling of living between two worlds — Germany, where the singer was born and raised, and Angola, where half of her roots lie. Her music captivates with its authenticity and special depth: in her personal lyrics, Luna deals with questions of identity, faith, and love, and, accompanied by her silky smooth voice, manages to blur boundaries.
