Irene, a theater actress, returns to her house by the lake after a long absence. Her brother Alex and her son Konstantin live there. It is summer and hot. Konstantin has a visit from his girlfriend Agnes, who is spending the semester break with her family in the neighboring house. Konstantin and Agnes grew up together. Agnes is now a student, while Konstantin writes and has never left the house by the lake. When they see each other again, nothing is as it was before, and every doubt is mercilessly exposed. Irene enters this confusion. The story between mother and son repeats itself as a futile struggle for recognition, ironic and aggressive. The relationship is lost, but the loss is unbearable.
