Pre-Crime

How much freedom are we willing to give up for the promise of security? An in depth investigation about preventive policework, the logic of machines and the reality of pre-crime scenarios. Using the example of current developments in the US and Europe, Pre-Crime tells the story of forecasting softwares, algorithms, databases, police officers, scientists, skeptics and those that are affected.

A film about Christopher Kirkley’s project “Sahel Sounds”, which celebrates musical performances of current artists from Niger, while leaving room to reflect on today’s role of ethnomusicology.
