Engineering design and research competition for girls
In cooperation with the
University of Waterloo, the Goethe-Institut Toronto is holding an Engineering Design and Research Competition for
young women in Ontario currently enrolled in grades 10 and 11. The competition will take place from
February 3rd-4th. Girls interested in participating can apply in teams of two and will face two different challenges. In the Research Symposium, they will present their own research project, which should illustrate a connection between Canadian and German innovation or engineering. Then they will take part in a coding Design Challenge. The winning team will go on a language and culture trip to Germany in summer 2017, all expenses paid! During this trip, the girls will not only take a German language class, but also get the chance to visit world-renowned German companies and research institutes. We are very much looking forward to interesting applications, a lot of creative contributions and an exciting competition!
