Classical music star Igor Levit in conversation with Jaap Nico Hamburger

Igor Levit is a Russian-German pianist. He primarily focuses on performance of works by Beethoven, Bach, and Busoni. In 2019, he was appointed to a professorship at the Musikhochschule Hannover. Igor Levit was named Gramophone's 2020 Artist of the Year and was nominated for a Grammy in the category "Best Classical Instrumental Solo."

Jaap Nico Hamburger is the current composer in residence with Mécénat Musica in Montréal. His compositions have been performed and recorded with l'Orchestre Metropolitain de Montreal, Ensemble Caprice and Vancouver’s Turning Ensemble. He is also a Clinical Professor of Medicine and previously practiced as Interventional Cardiologist.

The interview will be interspersed with Igor Levit's piano performances.
