In keeping with this year's motto of the Journées de la Culture - " Haut et Fort " (High and Loud) - the films presented here focus on people who don't let adverse life circumstances get them down and aren't afraid to be vocal in demanding their needs and their place in the family, in their village community and ultimately in society. In the fictionalized childhood story of one of Germany's most popular comedians, All About Me (Der Junge muss an die frische Luft) by Caroline Link, little, somewhat chubby Hans-Peter (later known as Hape Kerkeling), discovers early on his talent for making others laugh. A severe personal stroke of fate only spurs him on to bring a little joy to those around him. In Mountain Miracle (Amelie rennt), the opinionated Amelie has to learn in the Tyrolean mountains that the highest peaks - aka resistances - sometimes lie within oneself.

The three films tell stories of empowerment, willpower and confidence and are suitable for the whole family. All films in the original with French subtitles. Admission is free.
