Director: Percy Adlon

On a holiday trip through the United States, Bavarian Jasmin gets into a big argument with her husband. In the middle of the desert, the dirndl-wearing woman gets out of the car and just starts walking – until she reaches "Bagdad Café", a remote motel. Jasmin becomes fast friends with the owner, an African-American woman, and even finds a suitor in oddball painter Rudy. Soon, the "Bagdad Café" becomes Jasmin's new home. That is until the local sheriff notices her expired tourist visa. - filmportal.de
