AVA - Artificial V Art
Outdoor video art and short film projection presented by Goethe-Institut and Eastern Bloc:
The animation film series
AVA - Artificial V Art puts a special focus on artificial intelligence. Art and artificiality seem to be mutually dependent and open up a new approach to questions of authorship and the definition of art.
Artificial intelligence is already ubiquitous. As technology advances faster than legal texts, questions arise about ethics, but also aesthetics: what kind of world do we want to live in in the future?
The films assembled in the
AvA - Artificial V Art program sometimes draw on AI processes, thematize them or are themselves the product of such processes - and yet can stand on their own as forms and expressions of film art. Art and artificiality seem to be mutually dependent and thus open up a new approach to the questions of authorship and the definition of art.
The film program is meant to be both an invitation to discourse and a sensitization to current technological developments and their creative potential. The qualities of cinematic aesthetics and technical innovation seem to be directly linked here.
