Nele is a call center agent from Estonia who earns her money on the side as a dresser at the State Opera in Munich. By a crazy coincidence, talent scout Höllbach becomes aware of Nele's singing talent and offers her the great chance of a career as an opera singer. But when Nele falls in love with the petty criminal street dancer Kolya, she must face the demons of her past and descend into the underworld.
Axel Ranisch's modern adaptation of Orpheus and Eurydice is a cinematic-musical opera pastiche between Puccini, Handel and Christian Steiffen, the self-proclaimed "God of Schlager".
