Faraz Shariat’sNo Hard Feelings(Futur Drei, 2020) is a bold, tender coming-of-age drama that centers on Parvis, the German-born son of Iranian exiles, whose carefree queer youth collides with the harsher realities faced by recent refugees. Sentenced to community service at a refugee shelter, Parvis meets Amon, an Iranian asylum seeker, and the two develop a deep and complicated bond amid the backdrop of Germany’s migration system. The film paints an unflinching yet poetic portrait of identity, love, and the search for belonging.

Winner of the Teddy Award for Best LGBTQ Feature at the Berlinale.
