Germany's Eliot Quartett is returning to British Columbia and Ontario after two years. The Quartett was founded in 2014 and has become one of the most engaging string quartets of itsgeneration. Hailing from Canada, Germany and Russia, the quartet’s members formed the group inFrankfurt am Main and have since gone on to win prizes at major national and international musiccompetitions, including second prize at both the Mozart International Competition in Salzburg and theMelbourne International Chamber Music Competition and the Prize of the German Music Competition.

The Eliot Quartett is named after the American poet T. S. Eliot whose famous work “Four Quartets” wasinspired by the innovative late Quartets by Ludwig van Beethoven. Eliot, like Beethoven, attempted toestablish a connection between past, present and future by breaking away from the accepted classicalforms of the time.
Their concert schedule includes performances at renowned festivals and concerts seriesthroughout Europe. It has performed at the Bachfest Leipzig, the Kasseler Musiktagen, the MozartfestWürzburg, the Rheingau Musik Festival, the Shostakovich Tage, the Festival Musica Sur and DeltaChamber Music Festival in Spain, the Styriarte in Graz, the Mozarteum Salzburg and the Schubertiade.
