The international trade fair city of Cologne, with more than one million inhabitants, is a lively and diverse metropolis. This impressive cathedral city on the Rhine has a 2000-year history and plenty of culture to see and experience. With their proverbial easy-going attitude, the Rhineland populace lends a unique note to the city’s cosmopolitan atmosphere.

The Köln-Riehl youth hostel is beautifully situated near the banks of the Rhine, with many of the comfortably appointed dorm rooms and modern classrooms offering unique river views. The Cologne city center, with its many sights and excellent shopping, is just a few minutes away by subway. Attractive excursion destinations include the Phantasialand theme park and of course the wonderful Rhine valley.

For example: badminton, barbecue, basketball, beach volleyball, bowling, city walking tours, cycling, foosball, handball, hiking, inline skating, jogging, miniputt, movie nights, museum visits, paddling, soccer, sports field, swimming, table tennis, tennis, volleyball
