Inari Virkkala is an architect and urban designer focusing on the social impacts of design. She is one of the founders of the #MaataPitkin-matkamessut, land-based travel fair informing and inspiring people to find climate friendly ways to travel.

Inari Virkkala contextualises the subject of mobility in the age of climate change and will discuss with the designer Gero Grundmann how we might and should think about mobility today.

She will also introduce the alternative travel fair 'Maata pitkin' that got inspired by the Swedish network 'Tågsemester' that has over 100 000 members.

An example for climate friendly traveling gives the study "1,5 Degree Lifestyles"  by Prof. Michael Lettenmaier of Aalto University.
