Coordinator for Educational Services (M/F/D)

Goethe-Institut Glasgow is looking for a Coordinator for Educational Services, starting on 15 January 2026 (or later). The position is in 50 % part time (19,5 hours/week) with the possibility to extend to 100 % full time (100 % = 39 hours/week until 31 December 2026), with extension depending on project funding.

The annual full-time pay equivalent for the position is 30,718.80 GBP.

ABOUT THE GOETHE-INSTITUT

The Goethe-Institut is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with a global presence. We facilitate international cultural exchange, promote access to the German language and support the unimpeded development of culture and science.

Duties Comprise

  • Annual activity planning for Educational Services in Scotland in coordination with Head of Goethe-Institut Glasgow and Head of Language department for Northwest Europe in London
  • Lobbying and representation of Educational Services in relevant bodies in the host country, including language policy, and advertisement for German as a Foreign language
  • Working with schools with and without German language learning programmes in Scottland, including PASCH-schools, in coordination with the regional office in London
  • Preparation and implementation of local and regional projects
  • Planning and implementation of professional trainings for German teachers
  • Monitoring new trends and developments in the Scottish educational system
  • Maintaining partner network contacts in coordination with Head of Goethe-Institut Glasgow
  • Organisation and advertisement for the scholarship programme for German teachers in Scottland
  • Financial planning and reporting
  • Close cooperation with the regional team for Educational Services UK in London
  • Supervising interns for Educational Services

Requirements

  • Very good professional knowledge in the field of Education and German as a Foreign Language (DaF); relevant professional experience
  • Flexibility and reliability

  • High social and intercultultural skills
  • High communication skills and ability to work in a team
  • High resilience
  • Very good command of German and English
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Willingness to flexible work time division and business trips
  • A valid residency and work permit for UK
