German Up-Skilling at your School
For primary school teachers and secondary school teachers working in their primary feeder schools.
Goethe-Institut/Sonja Tobias
A course consisting of 10 sessions is offered as after-school inset (Twilight Sessions, 90 min each).The aims of the sessions are to equip non-specialist language teaching staff with:
- an understanding of and familiarity with the Goethe-Institut’s Felix & Franzi Key Stage 2 course
- an understanding of basic vocabulary, structure and grammar of the German language
- models of and ideas for good language teaching practice
- the confidence to deliver German to Key Stage 2 pupils in school
The course enables teachers to deliver German language lessons in an age-appropriate, knowledgeable, informed, varied, confident and enthusiastic way.
The sessions are offered free of charge. A minimum group size of 6 teachers is required. Teachers can be from one school or from different schools. Please note that participation in all sessions is expected.
