Our course administrator’s office is the right address if you are interested in learning German or if you need to take an international recognized exam.
To determine the best language course format for each student, we offer personal consultation services as well as a placement test to make sure that you choose the optimal course for you.

Our dedicated team of teachers make sure that the lessons are lively and varied. The focus lies on learning to communicate effectively in authentic, real-life situations. To this end, all language skills will be developed: speaking, listening, reading, and writing in German. There are different learning formats available to suit personal learning preferences. You can choose between online and face-to-face courses on our premises, between extensive and intensive courses. You can even combine your course here with a course at one of the Goethe-Instituts in Germany if you are looking for immersion in the language.
Whatever class you choose: Learning German at the Goethe-Institut Glasgow is more than just language learning. It offers cultural experiences and exchanges.

We enjoy working for the Goethe-Institut Glasgow and being part of a worldwide network. Cultural diversity certainly plays a big part, both in our direct work environment and in our communication with our students.
In September and October, a new term of language courses is starting. This is always a very busy and exciting period for us. We love to see the house fill up again with our students - there is always quite a buzz about the building!

Together with our colleagues at reception and in the library & information centre we are doing our best to create the best possible experience for you in reaching your learning goals and having a good time learning German.

Teachers‘ Voices:

“The best part of our job are the wonderful and interesting people we meet while teaching. There is nothing better than being able to watch their progress.“
Ilse

“Some students stay in touch for many years, and it is great to be able to follow the profound impact learning German had on their lives in many cases. I am always fascinated with the extremely varied biographies of our language class participants. This colourful mix of biographies in our classrooms is extremely rewarding for myself as a teacher, as I am learning so many new things every time.“
Claudia

“Many language class participants have been taking courses with us for years. They enjoy the pleasant and familiar atmosphere of our venue.“
