CIRCUS: Acts of Assembly. Movement Workshop with Divine Tasinda
Workshop|A welcoming movement workshop led by Divine Tasinda, open to all bodies and abilities
-
Goethe-Institut Glasgow, Glasgow
- Language English
- Price Free but ticketed
CIRCUS opens with a soft movement workshop led by Divine Tasinda, infusing the Goethe-Institut with movement, warmth, and embodied knowledge. This grounding, expansive opening situates CIRCUS as a transformative, embodied, translocal space — one shaped from the outset by global majority practices of repair, care, and movement.
The workshop centres access and welcome. It is particularly open to marginalised communities, including LGBTQIA+ participants and people on low incomes, while all other groups are warmly invited. The session is suitable for all abilities and levels of movement experience.
Please note: due to stairs to the entrance and within the building, the venue is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.
Divine Tasinda is an international multidisciplinary artist. Born in Congo raised in Scotland. Divine specialises with dance, fashion, and music. Founder / director of Three60 company and House of KUNGI. Divine's movement is influenced by African traditional dance and street dance, specialising in hip-hop , Afro, dancehall , experimental and variation of other styles within street Dance and technical style such as contemporary.
