The participants of the literature classes at the Goethe-Institut London were reading "Der Zauberberg" by Thomas Mann in 2026.
In addition to the study of the text, they completed in-depth research projects on an aspect of the book. This exercise was undertaken to accompany and deepen their relationship to the text and resulted in a series of presentations they gave to each other.
Some of the themes were looked at from different perspectives by different participants in the two classes and so it is highly interesting to compare the various presenations. Good examples of this are the presentations on the reception of the "Zauberberg" as well as the relationship to Schopenhauer's thinking.
This treasure trove of thought and opinion deserves to become known beyond the confines of our small circle.
