Key responsibilities:

  • First-line IT support and liaison with the central IT Service Desk
  • Maintenance, support and monitoring of the local IT infrastructure
  • Ensuring IT security, backups and user access permissions
  • Administration of user accounts and Microsoft 365
  • Providing staff support with hardware and software issues
  • Technical support for teaching and event spaces
  • Administration of the Microsoft Teams telephony system
  • Procurement, configuration and maintenance of hardware and software
  • Management of external IT service providers
  • IT budget and asset management
  • Administration of the library RFID system

Requirements:

  • Experience in an IT support or IT administration role, including Windows 11 and Microsoft 365
  • Good understanding of IT infrastructure, user account administration, endpoint support and IT security requirements
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Very good written and spoken English; German language skills would be an advantage but are not essential
  • Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users and deliver user guidance and training
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise workload and solve problems effectively
  • Flexibility, reliability and a strong service-oriented approach

We offer: 

Employment will be part-time (50%) with 19.5 hours per week. The position is remunerated in accordance with the current pay scale for locally employed staff of the Goethe-Institutes in the United Kingdom. The full-time equivalent starting salary is £36,595 per annum. Salary will be paid pro rata for the 50% part-time position. Annual leave amounts to 26 days plus public holidays for a full-time role. The Goethe-Institut London offers a contributory private pension scheme and organises training opportunities to support personal and professional development.
